Club Information

The Garden City Model Railroad Club's building houses a number of displays, layouts and dioramas including a model railway museum. The lower level contains the Garden CityModel Railroad Club layouts and is open to the public during the At times some of the displays may not be available. A smaller upstairs area is used by the club for its regular meetings.

Sunday is considered the best day to visit as many park exhibits are operational and the Garden City Model Railroad Club layouts are usually manned. Monday nights are set aside as the club's activity/meetings. Prospective members and visitors from other clubs are welcome to attend with prior arrangement.



Ferrymead Park information

The entrance to the park is from Ferrymead park drive. The park is usually open to the public during the hours of 10am to 4:30pm on a 7 day per week basis - except Christmas Day. Public bus transport is available via the Lyttelton (no.28 bus) and Sumner bus routes (no.30 bus), or no 35 bus (best one).

The City Information Centre or bus company would be happy to advise on the most suitable route to take.

There is an entry fee to gain admission to the Ferrymead Historic Park, however family or group concessions may be available. Entry to GCMRC clubhouse is included in the entry fee to the park.
